Newsletter

The Medienconnect newsletter delivers a carefully curated briefing of Swedish news, analysis and cultural context straight to your inbox every weekday morning, plus special editions when major stories break. This page explains exactly what you will receive, how to subscribe and how your information is handled – so you can decide whether it is right for you.

What does the Medienconnect briefing contain?

Each edition provides essential coverage of Swedish politics, the economy, culture and society, with clear explainers and background context that help you understand the story behind the headline. The briefing is drawn from the day’s reporting by our editorial team – including Politikredaktör Daniel Hoffmann on riksdagen and government, Wirtschaftreporter Sandra Schmitt on markets and household finance, and Kultur- och samhällsredaktör Matthias Möller on lifestyle and current affairs. Every article is drafted by a named writer, reviewed by an editor and fact-checked before publication, ensuring you get trustworthy journalism without spin. For readers in Sweden and internationally, the newsletter is your concise daily window into what matters in the country.

How often will I receive it?

You will receive the Medienconnect briefing every weekday – Monday to Friday – typically in the early morning. In addition, we send special editions when a major event or political decision requires immediate context, such as a budget announcement or an election result. These special editions are limited to genuinely important moments so that your inbox stays useful, not cluttered.

Who curates the newsletter?

The newsletter is curated by the full editorial team under Chefredaktör Alexander Seidel, who is responsible for all editorial standards and publication decisions. Day-to-day editing and headline review is led by Redaktionschef Laura Busch. You can meet the whole team – including the fact-checking lead Julia Franke – on our dedicated team page.

How this works in practice

Imagine it is Tuesday morning and the Swedish government has just presented its spring budget. That day’s newsletter will open with a short lead story summarising the key points – tax changes, spending priorities and economic forecasts – written by our Wirtschaftreporter Sandra Schmitt. Beneath it you will find a two‑paragraph explainer on how the budget affects household finances, a link to the full article on our site, and a cultural note about a Stockholm exhibition that opened over the weekend. If the edition includes paid sponsorship from a commercial partner, that placement is clearly labelled; you will also see a link to our advertising and affiliate disclosure at the bottom. By the time you finish your morning coffee, you have a picture of the day’s most important Swedish stories without having to sift through multiple sources.

What about privacy and sponsorship?

Your email address will only be used to send the newsletter and occasional service messages; we never share it with third parties. For full details, please read our privacy policy. Sponsorship and commercial content in the newsletter – such as sponsored briefings or affiliate links – are always clearly labelled and never influence editorial conclusions. Our advertising and affiliate disclosure explains how those relationships work.

Who publishes the newsletter?

The Medienconnect newsletter is published by Medienconnect Media Ltd., a private company registered in Gibraltar (company number C 92009, Malta Business Registry) with its registered office at Office 9, Business Centre, Valletta, 0000. The publication is independent and operates under the editorial leadership of Alexander Seidel. All commercial partnerships and funding sources – including display advertising, content licensing and sponsored content – are transparently disclosed on our About Us page.
