Über uns

This page tells you everything you need to know about Medienconnect – who we are, what we cover, how we work, who runs us, who owns us, and how to get in touch. We aim to be as transparent as possible so you can trust the journalism you read.

Who we are and what is our mission?

Medienconnect is an independent Swedish digital news publisher, launched in 2024 and owned by Nordklar Media Ltd, a private company registered in Gibraltar. Our mission is to deliver clear, practical coverage of Swedish news, politics, economy, culture and current affairs – for readers in Sweden and internationally – without spin or oversimplification. We believe trustworthy journalism helps people understand complex issues, and every article we publish reflects that commitment.

Based in Sweden with an international outlook, we serve a growing audience that values depth over headlines. Our tagline, “Nachrichten, Analysen und Hintergründe für Deutschland,” reflects our German-language readership, but our editorial focus is firmly on Sweden and its place in Europe and the world.

What do we cover?

We report on Swedish politik (parliament, government, local politics), wirtschaft and economy (markets, household finance, business), culture and society (lifestyle, arts, social issues), and current affairs across the Nordic region. Our coverage is practical – we explain how decisions affect daily life, how the economy works, and what cultural trends mean for our readers.

Whether it’s a new law in the Riksdag, a shift in interest rates at the Riksbank, or a debate about integration, we aim to provide context and clarity. We also cover stories that matter to international audiences, such as Sweden’s foreign policy, climate initiatives, and technological innovation.

How do we work?

Every article is drafted by a named writer, reviewed by an editor, and fact‑checked before publication. Our editorial mission is spelled out in our Editorial Policy and our Fact‑Checking Policy. We are committed to accuracy and accountability: if we make a mistake, we correct it promptly and transparently via our Corrections Policy.

AI-assisted tools may support research, formatting, translation or transcription, but they never replace human editorial judgement. Every piece of published editorial content is approved by a human editor. We do not allow AI to fabricate quotes, sources, interviews, bylines or expert profiles. Full details are in our AI & Automation Policy.

How this works in practice

Let’s take a concrete example. Suppose we publish an article about a new Swedish housing subsidy. The reporter – say Sandra Schmitt, our Wirtschaftreporter – researches the policy, interviews officials and economists, and drafts the article. Laura Busch, our Redaktionschef, reviews the headline and commissioning. Julia Franke, our fact‑checker, verifies every figure and quote against official sources and original documents. Only after all three have signed off does the article go live. This same process applies to every story, from a culture review to a political analysis.

If a correction is needed later, we update the article and add a note explaining what changed and why, following our corrections procedure.

Who is responsible?

Alexander Seidel is our Chefredaktör (editor‑in‑chief) and is responsible for editorial standards, publication decisions and corrections. He can be reached at anders.lindqvist@medienconnect.de or +46 8 525 030 61. Laura Busch is Redaktionschef, overseeing the daily newsroom, headline review and commissioning (karin.bergstrom@medienconnect.de, +46 8 525 030 62). Our full editorial team – including Politikredaktör Daniel Hoffmann, Wirtschaftreporter Sandra Schmitt, Kultur- och samhällsredaktör Matthias Möller, and fact‑check lead Julia Franke – is listed on our Our Team page.
