Werbe- & Affiliate-Hinweise

This page explains how Medienconnect funds its journalism, what affiliate links are, and how you can recognise commercial content on our site. We believe transparency builds trust, so you will always know when something is paid for or earns us a commission. Our editorial independence is never for sale.

How does Medienconnect fund its journalism?

Medienconnect is funded through a mix of display advertising, affiliate links, commercial partnerships, sponsored content, newsletter sponsorships and content licensing. None of these revenue streams influence what we publish. Every article is drafted by a named writer, reviewed by an editor and fact‑checked before publication, regardless of whether it contains commercial elements. For a full breakdown of our ownership and funding structure, see our ownership and funding page.

The company behind Medienconnect is Medienconnec Media Ltd., a private company registered in Gibraltar (company number C 92009, Malta Business Registry). Our editorial team, led by Chefredaktör Alexander Seidel, operates independently from commercial relationships. Sponsored or commercial material is clearly labelled, and affiliate links are always disclosed. We never accept payment for editorial coverage without explicit labelling.

What are affiliate links and how do they work on our site?

Affiliate links are special links that earn Medienconnect a small commission if you click and make a purchase, at no extra cost to you. When you see an article that contains an affiliate link, you will find a clear disclosure near the link or at the top of the article explaining that we may receive a commission.

Our team chooses products, services or books based solely on editorial merit. If we recommend something, it is because we genuinely believe it is useful or informative – never because of the commission. Affiliate revenue helps us keep our journalism free to read. You can learn more about the standards that guide these decisions in our editorial policy.

Does display advertising influence our editorial decisions?

No. Display advertising and all other commercial relationships never determine editorial conclusions at Medienconnect. Our journalists and editors make every publishing decision based on news value, accuracy and public interest – not on advertiser preferences.

We accept display ads from a variety of advertisers, but we reserve the right to reject any advertisement that conflicts with our values or misleads readers. Advertisements are clearly separated from editorial content by visual cues such as borders or labels like “Anzeige” or “Sponsored”. If you see an advertisement that looks like editorial content, please let us know via our contact page.

How this works in practice

Imagine you read an article on Medienconnect about the best budget smartphones in Sweden. The article, written by Wirtschaftreporter Sandra Schmitt, includes a link to a retailer. That link is an affiliate link – you will see a small note near the link saying “We may earn a commission if you buy through this link”. The recommendation itself was made independently: Sandra tested the phones, checked prices and consulted sources. No advertiser or partner had any say in the selection. The article was then edited by Redaktionschef Laura Busch and fact‑checked by Julia Franke before publication. That same process applies whether or not the article contains affiliate links.

If the article had been sponsored – for example, a retailer paid to have a brand story published – it would be clearly labelled “Sponsored Content” at the top. Our sponsored content policy explains exactly how such pieces are reviewed and labelled so you can always tell commercial from independent reporting.

Who owns and operates Medienconnect?

Medienconnect is owned and operated by Medienconnec Media Ltd., a private company registered in Gibraltar (company number C 92009, Malta Business Registry). The registered office is Office 9, Business Centre, Valletta, 0000. The company was founded in 2024 and operates with full editorial independence under the supervision of Chefredaktör Alexander Seidel. In short

Medienconnect is funded transparently through advertising, affiliate links, sponsorships and licensing, and every piece of commercial content is clearly labelled. Our journalists remain independent – no partner or advertiser can dictate what we publish. You can trust that the news, analysis and background you read here are produced with the same rigour and ethical standards, regardless of how the article is funded.
